The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission are joining forces to streamline cryptocurrency regulation through a revived 'Project Crypto' initiative. The collaboration aims to eliminate regulatory fragmentation and establish clear jurisdictional boundaries for digital assets.

CFTC Chairman Michael Selig emphasized the need for coordinated oversight during a joint harmonization event. The agencies will focus on developing unified definitions, shared compliance standards, and integrated data-sharing protocols to govern crypto markets.

'Harmonization strengthens standards through coherence and predictability,' Selig stated, framing the initiative as critical for maintaining U.S. leadership in financial innovation. The MOVE comes as global regulators increasingly scrutinize digital asset markets.
